Plum Twill + Heather Ross

A few yards of the adorable Mother Cats print from Heather Ross has been sitting in my fabric stash since 2020 and the chance to put it to use finally showed up! I’ve looked at it a number of times wanting to make something but just couldn’t match it up with anything else in my fabric collection until Robert Kaufman's Kobe twill in Rose came along.
Once I realized these two were a great match, I got to work sewing it into some grocery bags (of course!).
Depending on what it's next to it thanks to color influence, the twill fabric can be described as dusty plum, mauve, lilac, etc. It’s a very wearable shade of pinkish-purple if you like your clothing colors more on the muted, quiet side. Which is pretty much me so I’ve been eyeing this fabric for a spring skirt. It’s also a lighter weight twill (6 oz) so it has a nice drape.
The cat print fabric is available from several places but it’s been OOP for a few years now so it can be quite pricey.
But here is a tip: Take a look here because this fabric is being re-released this summer and the shop at the link has it available at a more reasonable price.
